Todd Palin quits, Diana Palin pleads, Sarah Palin catastrophic.

Todd 'I'll always be an oilman' Palin just up and quit his job. Is he finally coming to terms with his many roles in the life of Sarah Palin? (flashback) His days as shadow governor are done. No more snooping through state employees files, no more stalking the in-laws for photos or the all around hard work of keeping the love triangles out of the press. The good old days are over and it's time to find other ways to service Queen Esther. The Mr. Mom in Todd has shown us he will travel the world to serve her every need and boost that $7,000,000,00 book deal. There is a good chance he will be her personal assistant if she makes the book tour of the Fox studio in November.

The Alaska Dispatch was allowed to update Diana Palin's burglary case:

Palin's bail was set at $10,000, but she served five months in jail, the majority of the time at Hiland Mountain Correctional Center (with Sherry Johnston?) in Eagle River.
She's scheduled for sentencing Jan. 22.

"Ice Crystals": Tori Tipton and the Mat-Su Valley

Before the prescription drug OxyContin surpassed homemade meth as the drug of choice in the Mat-Su Valley, Lori Tipton covered the Anchorage International Film Festival debut of "Ice Crystals."

Lori Tipton, the voice of Mat-Su Valley for KTUU

Documentary: "Ice Crystals" methamphetamine

The 19-year-old filmmaker Eirin Strickland, said "I didn't really know how bad it was when I started out." Strickland wanted to learn more about methamphetamine and it's effects in his hometown of Palmer, Alaska. He spent a year researching the Matanuska Valley's meth problem. Once the farming capitol of Alaska, it later became known as the meth capitol of Alaska.

"I was born here and I wanted to know how this could've happened to my home," Strickland said. It is tragic that not enough of the other Valley residents have an interest to know, illicit drug deals rule and business is good.

KTUU Valley news reporter Lori Tipton reviewed the documentary in Nov. 2007. A year later and the Valley (Wasilla, Palmer) was famous around the world when Sarah Palin's older children, Track and Bristol, made headlines and tabloids covers with their reported drug use. Meth was no longer the drug of choice in the Valley. A famous OxyContin bust (delayed for political reasons) spotlighted the new choice, OxyContin.

Has the drug problem improved? Is it time for another documentary? Do local journalists, like Lori Tipton, need to get off their butts?

It appears Tipton failed to notice the Alaskan troopers statements. The following story with Investigator Kyle Young disappeared from the media. Why are reporters in the Valley so remiss? Alaska trooper says politics slowed drug arrest.

Investigator Kyle Young sent an e-mail to the Public Safety Employees Association saying the search warrant of Johnston’s house was delayed for political reasons, the Anchorage Daily News reported Monday.

“It was not allowed to progress in a normal fashion, the search warrant WAS delayed because of the pending election and the Mat Su Drug Unit and the case officer were not the ones calling the shots,” Young wrote in the Dec. 30 e-mail.

Lori Tipton reported: Feds suspend Medicaid for Alaskans in July 2009.
"From 2006 to 2009, the state reported 27 Alaskans died while waiting for initial assessments and 227 died while waiting to be reassessed,
according to the review."

Breaking the back of Health and Social Services.

The media follow up was nil, that should be a crime. What are 227 deaths to Tipton, KTUU and Alaska? The federal government did eventually reinstate Medicaid, yet few show they cared about the deaths in Alaska or how the deaths came about. Were there any stories about these citizens? Did any of them have families that were effected?

The people need better information about all healthcare information:

Bob Lester is known for his disdain of a cancer patient and the time when Sarah Palin joined him with laughter as Lester jockingly mocked. "Early this year, an op-ed in the Anchorage Daily News ripped into Gov. Sarah Palin's appearance on a morning "shock jock" radio show as "plain and simple one of the most unprofessional, childish and inexcusable performances I've ever seen from a politician".

If you live in Alaska, don't get sick. They have some disgusting excuses for media types and they may broadcast calling you names and laughing at your misfortune.

Other than that, does Lori Tipton know what a pregnant woman looks like or how to develop and follow a story that reeks of child abuse and fraud?

It's hard to say what happened with Tipton when she worked on Trig Palin's mysterious birth. Was she duped? Why did she not do better research and follow up?

There are more questions today than ever before.

RIP: Trenton Michael Tunohun

This is one more tragic story of a Mat-Su Valley teen, 17 year old Trenton Michael Tunohun. He was doing what most Valley teens regularly do, party. The drug problem is at epidemic proportions after years of neglect by leaders of the area. The police were called due to a report of an assault where someone pulled a gun. Only alcohol is mentioned, not drugs.

Gatherings like this is typical in the Valley. Often reports go dead, they don't get far with investigations or follow up in the press. Wasilla has an arsonist or arsonists on the loose. After the Wasilla Bible Church fire in December 2008 there has been no significant updates on what progress was made to solve the problem with arsonists, including the church fire. The FBI was brought in and still no follow up. There is this: Palin’s church fire was attempted murder by a professional By Kevin “Coach” Collins. The "facts" are from Sarah Palin's church Elder Tom Ryan.

The world is watching and wants to know, what is the problem in this small area? When Sarah Palin was around she had the mega commercial Menard Sports Complex built at great expense to the community. Palin liked the look so much she manipulated zoning and copied many features to a house she claims Todd and a few friends built on week ends. Would alcohol/drug treatment and more money to help the police with investigations been a better investment?

What is happening with these typical recreational outings where teens and adults mingle to party? Will the police have the money to continue an investigation now that the body was found? The death may have been accidental but there are lingering questions as to what led up to the assault. Do the police ignore underage drinking recreation if no one has a gun or draws blood? There are continuing questions about Sherry Johnston's arrest. What next?

17-year-old Trenton Michael Tunohun of Palmer, missing since July 27

On Monday, July 27, 2009, at about 0340 hours, Palmer Police responded to a report of a man with blood on himself, staggering near the Matanuska River Bridge. Palmer Police contacted TROY A. JOHNSON, age 36 of Palmer. JOHNSON stated some juveniles had assaulted him and pulled a firearm on him during a disturbance at the river. Police went to contact the juveniles who were parked on the Palmer side of the Mat River Bridge at the pullout and when the officer arrived on scene four juveniles and one adult, later identified as JODY M. JOHNSON, age 33 of Palmer, fled into the wooded area north and west of the Matanuska River. One of the four juveniles who ran into the woods was TRENTON TUNOHUN, age 17 of Palmer. The following day friends reported that TUNOHUN did not return home and filed a missing person report with Palmer Police.

He hasn't been online since the day he disappeared. Nothing too exciting on his page, though, other than his friends' homophobic and racist comments.

Police say they continue to investigate Tunohun’s disappearance. They are calling people who knew Tunohun and looking into who provided the alcohol that night and where the gun came from.
