So Rush Just Wanted A “Rush”

Two High Profile Oxycontin Cases

Mainstream Media Fails to Challenge Limbaugh Spin On Illegal Drug Buys And Use
The unfortunate poor, uneducated, ghetto drug addicts get 25 years in “real jail”. People in real, chronic, severe pain that are tormented for life are in their own “society imposed jail” with no way to escape. And Rush Limbaugh gets to become a celebrity for getting caught, and turning his high powered Public Relations lawyers loose with the proper spin on Rush’s pitiful dilemma.

Since the December 18, 2008 arrest of Sherry Johnston at her home in Wasilla there have been more questions than answers. The sentencing phase is coming to an end and we are still in the dark. For a first time offender they pretty much threw the book at Mrs. Johnston. Why? Will this travesty be another well kept secret for McCain/Palin 2008? There are too many suspicious circumstances to think this was not a sting. (The Rush Limbaugh case before gives us a glimpse at how his high profile addiction was handled.)

Cops Sat on Sherry Johnston's Search Warrant Due to Palin
An affidavit, dated Dec. 22, details how troopers used two informants to collect evidence that Johnston sold OxyContin on Oct. 11, Oct. 22 and Nov. 26the last date being well past the Nov. 4 election date… Coincidence? Arrest Dec. 22
Gryphen: Now my final bit of information is about Sherry Johnston.
As some of you may know Sherry's court date was moved from yesterday to August 19. The reason for this is that until just now the prosecutors REFUSED to make any kind of a deal, because of pressure they were receiving from the Governor. For some reason Palin was pushing for Sherry to receive the maximum sentence. It must be that charitable Christian heart of hers we keep hearing so much about.

I cannot talk about what kind of deal Sherry may get, but the prosecution has become much more reasonable now that Sean Parnell is our Governor.

JAN. 6 HEARING: Authorities remain tight-lipped about details.
Johnston's arrest was oxycontin-related

Revisiting Rush Limbaugh and oxycontin:
According to other sources Rush allegedly coerced and threatened his housekeeper to illegally obtain more than 4500 Oxycontin in 47 days. The implication from her is that he was in no apparent pain and was just a pill popper who liked the feeling (the rush) and didn’t mind risking being addicted.

Allegedly, he had his housekeeper hide the pills under his mattress so his wife wouldn’t find them. Twice he went to a rehab place in New York to detoxify himself. Never was their any mention of physical pain due to his previous surgery by his housekeeper or in his previous statements of the past five years. His physical body language on TV (his jittery, quick, and jerky physical motion) showed a man in no apparent pain. And if he was in such pain, one would have to wonder how he could excel in such a high stress, physically and mentally demanding job, and be at the top of his form.

  1. The claims you repeat against Limbaugh are completely baseless. The prosecution was never able to find any evidence that Limbaugh committed any felony, and eventually dropped all charges.

Sherry Johnston plead guilty. Rush Limbaugh did not. Case closed.

The thought that Limbaugh is an addict may be difficult for some. He is not about to admit any crimes.

Limbaugh was in the state of Florida when he had a run in with the law, he had the money for an expensive lawyer . The ACLU came to his defense, they supported his 4th amendment right. There is a lot no one will ever know about the years that he was addicted. He could have been charged with far worse crimes if the truth was told. His house keeper was part of his pattern of abuse and she described behaviors that are typical of addicts. Some people prefer to believe in the tooth fairy than to face the truth about addiction.

Johnston's case is wrapping up. Limbaugh's is past. The "cases" aren't identical, they are two different addicts that made different deals. One is very rich, the other poor. Limbaugh is a public persona with specific statements and philosophy about drugs and addicts. Johnston has been private with some fame through connections to others. You may believe OJ is innocent because a criminal court determined he was not guilty. His criminal case is over, that doesn't mean you can't compare it to others. It doesn't make him innocent of crimes. Money can make a difference. You may prefer looking at the addiction case of Cindy McCain?

Limbaugh is an addict that was arrested, booked, photographed, and fingerprinted, but not handcuffed. He was released on bail after about an hour. He was treated very well and his privacy respected. He was only required to do an 18-month therapy regimen with his physician and pay a small fine. He is still an addict that had a case to compare to others.

Whether or not he was convicted for doctor shopping is one thing. He would know what he was doing and whether it was illegal. Just because he doesn't admit something to his audience doesn't mean he didn't do the crime. It just means he didn't do the time.

Limbaugh was also stopped after returning from a place known for prostitution of young boys. DEA agents found he was carrying his doctor's Viagra. There are not a whole lot of reasons for the family values crowd to need Viagra on a short vacation to the Dominican Republic. What was so important to get his doctor to loan his prescription? No hanky panky there, I suppose? I feel better about his appearance as an addict than I do a pedophile. He does not have the character to admit either but some things are obvious. Just watch out for people who excuse the pedophiles.
